LAWRENCE COUNTY ARREST LIST – APRIL 30-MAY 7, 2018
MAY 8, 2018 – written by WADE QUEEN
From 12:01 A.M. April 30 thru to 11:59 P.M., May 7, there were at least 112 individuals who were arrested and were brought to be lodged at the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center in Paintsville, Kentucky. Out of those 140 or so, eight of those arrested were from Lawrence County.
As of 8 P.M., Tuesday evening May 8, there were 323 inmates lodged at Big Sandy Regional Detention Center in Paintsville; in which the maximum designated capacity for the BSRDC is to hold 225 inmates. That is just under 49% overcapacity. For comparison, the Pike County Detention Center in Pikeville, Kentucky, as of 8 P.M. Tuesday evening May 8, has 370 inmates booked, in a facility that designated maximum capacity is for 400 inmates. That is at 95% capacity.
But the numbers of inmates being currently lodged at the BSRDC are lower than they were at the end of April into the first of May, as the number of arrests in the Big Sandy region have gone down in the last several days since before and over this past weekend.
