TOTAL ARRESTS NUMBERS CONTINUE STEADY SLIDE DOWNWARDS OVER PAST SEVERAL WEEKS IN LAWRENCE COUNTY AND NEIGHBORING BIG SANDY COUNTIES;
BARLEY LEGAL ADULT LOUISA TEENAGER ARRESTED FOR THIRD WEEK IN A ROW, AND FOUR TOTAL SINCE BEGINNING OF 2020.
In the past 7 day period from 12:01 A.M. February 8,2020, thru to 11:59 A.M. February 14,2020,there were at least 49 individuals who were arrested and were brought to be lodged at the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center in Paintsville, Kentucky. Out of those 49, 7 of those arrested were from Lawrence County.
Two Lawrence County residents were taken into custody in other Kentucky jurisdictions (1 in Shelby County, and 1 in Mason County).
That is in comparison to the previous preceding past 9 day period from 12:01 A.M. January 30,2020, thru to 11:59 A.M. February 7,2020, there were at least 76 individuals who were arrested and were brought to be lodged at the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center in Paintsville,Kentucky.Out of those 76, 8 of those arrested were from Lawrence County. Also, two Lawrence County residents were taken into custody in other Kentucky jurisdictions (1 in Boyd County, and 1 in Martin County).
The number of inmates that were lodged at the BSRDC in Paintsville as of 6:00 A.M. Saturday morning February 15, 2020, was 221 . The maximum designated inmate capacity as built for the BSRDC facility is 225.
The names and criminal charges of those latest seven arrested in Lawrence County, along with the two Lawrence County residents arrested in other Kentucky counties, are the following:
Andrew K. O’Bryan, 22, of Ashland, Kentucky, was arrested on February 8, 2020, at 7:38 P.M., by a trooper of the Kentucky State Police, and was charged with:
• NON-PAYMENT OF COURT COSTS, FEES OR FINES.
Timothy S. Harper, 18, of Louisa, was arrested on February 9, 2020, at 2:43 A.M., by sergeant Steven Wilburn, of the Louisa Police Department, and was charged with:
• THEFT BY UNLAWFUL TAKING OR DISPOSITION SHOPLIFTING UNDER/$500,
• POSSESSION CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE 1ST DEGREE, 1ST OFFENSE (METHAMPHETAMINE).
Tyler J. Kirk, 28, of Louisa, was arrested on February 9, 2020, at 8:50 P.M., by trooper Bradley Couch, of the Kentucky State Police, & was charged with:
• OPERATING MOTOR VEHICLE UNDER/INFLUENCE ALCOHOL/DRUGS/ETC. .08 (AGGRAVATING CIRCUMSTANCES) 1ST OFFENSE,
• NO REGISTRATION RECEIPT,
• NO REGISTRATION PLATES,
• FAILURE TO PRODUCE INSURANCE CARD,
• POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA,
• DRUG PARAPHERNALIA – BUY/POSSESS.
Tommy Muncy, 44, of Louisa, was arrested on February 11, 2020, at 3:18 A.M., by deputy Michael Housinger, of the Lawrence County Sheriff Department, and was charged with:
• SERVING BENCH WARRANT FOR COURT.
Scott S. Smith, 38, of Dugger, Indiana, was arrested on February 12, 2020, at 2:19 P.M., by Sheriff Chuck Jackson, of the Lawrence County Sheriff Department, and was charged with:
• OPERATORS MOTOR VEHICLE UNDER/INFLUENCE ALCOHOL/DRUGS/ETC. .08 – 1ST OFFENSE,
• OPERATING ON SUSPENDED OR REVOKED OPERATORS LICENSE,
• FUGITIVE FROM ANOTHER STATE – WARRANT REQUIRED.
Ryan Chad Hayes, 32, of Louisa, was taken into custody on February 13, 2020, at 12:11 P.M., by the Lawrence County Sheriff Department, to serve a guilty plea jail sentence “weekender:
• CONTEMPT OF COURT LIBEL/SLANDER RESISTANCE TO ORDER.
David Bryan Johnson, 42, of Louisa, was arrested on February 14, 2020, at 12:26 A.M., by patrolman officer Hunter James, of the Louisa Police Department,&was charged with:
• CRIMINAL TRESPASSING -3RD DEGREE,
• FLEEING OR EVADING POLICE, 2ND DEGREE (ON FOOT),
• DISORDERLY CONDUCT, 2ND DEGREE,
• RESISTING ARREST.

Leslie Scott Triplett, 44, of Louisa, was arrested in Shelby County, Ky. on February 9, 2020, at 4:37 A.M., by trooper Brandon Boggs, of the Kentucky State Police-Post 12-Frankfort,Ky., and was charged with:
• ONE HEADLIGHT,
• REAR LICENSE NOT ILLUMINATED,
• VIOLATION OF A KENTUCKY EPO/ DVO,
• OPERATING MOTOR VEHICLE UNDER/INFLUENCE ALCOHOL/DRUGS/ETC. .08 – 1ST OFFENSE,
