FRANKFORT, Ky. — Secretary of State Michael Adams has unveiled an easy way for Kentucky voters to register as poll workers for November’s general election.
The Poll Worker Volunteer Portal is now available at www.govoteky.com. The portal passes an application on to the volunteer’s county clerk, who then will contact the volunteer.
The number of poll workers in Kentucky is at a critical low. The availability of poll workers will dictate how many polling locations are available on election day. If a county doesn’t have enough poll workers, it limits the county clerk’s ability to offer in-person voting.
“Just as we’ve made it easy to vote, we’ve made it easy to serve your community by volunteering to work the polls,” Adams said. “Whatever your politics, we need your help so we can offer in-person voting, and also so we can ask less of our elderly poll workers who usually volunteer.”

mail in voting is the only way
“it is what it is” orange clown
Sure it is. We might not know who wins for months like the congressional race in New York.
i am glad you agree with mail in voting
if you are going to limit the voting places like ky did in the primary i believe jefferson and fayette county’s only had one polling place open what would your solution to the problem ?
Here is an idea. Pay younger folks on govt assistance (under 30) to work the polls wearing masks etc. A quick training video will show them what to do or not do. So the older folks who usually do it aren’t at risk. Have voters social distance and wear masks when in the building. Any voter who don’t want to risk it can requst a absentee ballot and vote that way. Simple and easy with a lot less chance of fraud. Then there will be plenty of polling places open.
By the way I was being sarcastic when I said “sure it is”.
what is the difference between mail in voting or absentee voting ?
my understanding is you ask for a ballot and if you are a register voter they MAIL you a application match the signature then they will MAIL you a ballot then you sign both sealed envelopes and MAIL it in and if it is sealed(both envelopes) signatures match and postmarked by deadline then they will count your MAIL in vote what are you afraid of ?
voter turnout to big ?
