KENTUCKY STATE POLICE ARREST CLAY COUNTY MAN FOR MURDER IN WEEKEND SHOOTING CASE

JEFFERY SEAN SANDLIN, 33, OF ONEIDA, KENTUCKY, WHO WAS ARRESTED FOR MURDER IN SHOOTING CASE IN CLAY COUNTY, KENTUCKY SUNDAY MORNING, MAY 23.
One man is dead, and another is in jail, after an argument that then turned into a deadly shooting in an east-central Kentucky county early Sunday morning.
According to a press release statement Kentucky State Police, Post 11, in London, Ky., they received a call for assistance from Clay County 911 with a shooting incident on KY 1482 in the Oneida Community of Clay County at approximately 2:14 A.M, Sunday morning, May 23.
The press statement stated that the preliminary investigation by the KSP revealed that Jeffery Sean Sandlin, 32 years of age, of Oneida, KY, was having a verbal altercation with Lester C. Daniel, 32 years of age, of Oneida, KY. During the argument, Jeffery Sandlin retrieved a firearm and discharged the weapon striking Lester Daniel.
Lester Daniel was transported from the shooting scene by Clay County EMS to Manchester Advent Health Hospital where he succumbed to his wounds. Lester Daniel was pronounced deceased by the Clay County Coroner.
Jeffery Sandlin was charged with Murder, and was lodged in the Clay County Detention Center in Manchester late Sunday afternoon. Sandlin was also charged with Failure To Appear, in connection to a separate court case.
KSP Detective James Royal is continuing the murder investigation. He was assisted by Kentucky State Police Post 11 personnel, Clay County Sheriff’s Department, Clay County EMS and the Clay County Coroner’s Office.
This incident remains under investigation by Kentucky State Police, Post 11 London.

KENTUCKY STATE POLICE INVESTIGATE SUNDAY MORNING SHOOTING DEATH OF YOUNG WOMAN IN HARLAN COUNTY
The Kentucky State Police are also investigating another weekend morning shooting death case.
According to a press release from the Kentucky State Police Post 10, in Harlan, Ky., troopers said they received a 911 call at 1:08 A.M. early Sunday morning, May 23, from an individual who gave reference of a shooting incident in the Ages community area of Harlan County.
Troopers from Post 10 arrived at the scene of the shooting, and learned that the victim, identified as Sarah Jane King, 26, of Harlan Ky., had been shot one time in the chest.
Sarah Jane King was taken by Lifeguard EMS to Harlan Appalachian Regional Hospital, where she succumbed to her injury and was pronounced deceased by the Harlan County Coroner’s Office.
An autopsy is scheduled tomorrow (Monday) in Louisville at the state medical examiner office.
The investigation is ongoing, with no arrest has been made in connection to the shooting as of Sunday evening. KSP Detectives are conducting interviews and processing evidence from the scene. KENTUCKY STATE POLICE ARREST TEENAGE SUSPECT FOR MURDER IN CONNECTION FRIDAY MORNING DEATH OF ELDERLY WOMAN IN MEADE COUNTY, KY.
BARELY AN ADULT: ALLEGED TEENAGER MURDER SUSPECT: TYLER J. PETTY, 18, OF VINE GROVE, KY;
The Kentucky State Police arrested a male teenage late Friday night, after the suspect was charged with murder; in connection to the Friday morning death case of an elderly woman.
According to a press release statement from the Kentucky State Police Post 4, in Elizabethtown, KY was contacted on Friday, May 21st, 2021 at approximately 9:21 A.M. in reference to a deceased female that was located inside a residence on Woodland Road in Meade County.
KSP Troopers and Detectives responded to the scene, and discovered the dead woman, identified as Cris Blehar, 65, of Vine Grove,KY. deceased inside the residence. Blehar was pronounced deceased by the Meade County Coroners Office.
Through their investigation by KSP officers, it was determined that Blehar had been murdered and a suspect was developed. The suspect, Tyler J. Petty, 18, of Vine Grove, KY.; was located, interviewed, and charged with Murder and Tampering with Physical Evidence.
Tyler Petty was taken to and lodged in the Meade County Detention Center in Brandenburg, KY.
This murder incident case remains under investigation by KSP Detective Bryan Washer.

KENTUCKY STATE POLICE CONTINUE INVESTIGATION IN SHOOTING DEATHS OF THREE INDIVIDUALS OUTSIDE HOME; AND DISCOVERY OF FOURTH DEAD PERSON IN BURNED DETACHED AREA OF HOME IN OHIO, COUNTY, KY.
The Kentucky State Police are continuing their investigation in a gruesome major criminal case that consists of triple murder shooting death of three indidviduals outside a home; and then the next day, the discovery of a fourth deceased person in burned down structure next to the residence.
On Friday May 21, Ohio County Coroner Elvis Doolin confirmed the identities of three of the four victims. With the assistance of Kentucky State Police detectives and the Kentucky Medical Examiner office, law enforcement authorities can confirm the first three victims suffered gunshot wounds. They are:
(1). Hunter L. Owings, 20 of Centertown, KY.
(2). Nora J. Owings, 44 of Beaver Dam, KY.
(3) Calvin Leisure Jr, 66 of Beaver Dam, KY.
The fourth victim discovered in the burned building has not yet been identified, nor the manner of the fourth victim’s death.
Kentucky State Police detectives, Kentucky Medical Examiner’s Office and the Ohio County Coroner’s Office continue to investigate this brutal case.

Troopers Say All Three Victims Appear to have Gunshot Wounds
Beaver Dam, KY. (May 19, 2021) – Kentucky State Police troopers are investigating the death of four people at a residence in the 5700 block of U.S. 62 West in the McHenry area community of Ohio County, Kentucky.
According to trooper Corey King, public affairs for KSP Post 16-Henderson; local authorities were notified of the shooting around 4:30 P.M. Tuesday afternoon, May 18. When KSP troopers and deputies arrived, they located three victims outside of the residence with apparent gunshot wounds. A detached structure on the west side of the residence was fully involved.
All three victims were deceased and Beaver Dam Volunteer Fire Department worked to control the structure fire.
Today (Wednesday), a fourth victim was discovered inside the burned detached building.
Autopsies are scheduled today for three of the victims in Madisonville. The fourth victim’s autopsy has not been scheduled.
The investigation is continuing by the Kentucky State Police Post 16.
Other assisting agencies: Kentucky State Police Arson Investigations; Kentucky State Police Critical Incident Response Team; Kentucky State Police DE/SI West; Ohio County Sheriff’s Department; Ohio County Coroner’s Office; Ohio County EMS; Ohio County Emergency Management Agency; and the Beaver Dam Fire Department.
