Resident of home where Crouch was found also arrested
At approximately 3 am Saturday night Wayne County, W.Va. Deputies arrested Fugitive Mark Allen Crouch, of Columbus, Ohio in the Upper Silver Creek area of Crum after officers received information from the Mingo Co. Sheriff’s Dept of a possible location for Crouch.
Crouch, 32, was wanted for Escape 1st Degree, Assault 3rd Degree – Police Officer , Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree, and Felony Theft after he attacked and physically assaulted a Martin County transport officer in Johnson Co KY and stole his cruiser.
Crouch was also a wanted fugitive from Martin CO KY for Burglary 2nd Degree, Bail Jumping 1st Degree, and misdemeanor criminal mischief 3rd degree.
Christopher Chaffins was also arrested at the residence Crouch was located at for Warrants out of Mingo CO for Burglary, Petit Larceny, and Transferring or Receiving stolen property.
The US Marshals, WV State Police, and Fort Gay PD assisted in the arrest.
Both suspects were taken into custody without incident. Sheriff Thompson stated he is pleased with the multi-agency collaboration in the efforts of making these arrests of dangerous criminals.
