Edith Pearl Wells
1930 — 2017
Edith Pearl Wells, 87 formerly of Dehue, WV, Louisa, KY, and Chapmansville, WV, is now in the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She departed this earthly body on Monday, April 24, 2017 and is now rejoicing in her glorified body.
Edith was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend. She was a joy to everyone she met. It was her desire to make those around her feel like her family.
Edith loved God with her whole heart. She was a shining example of a woman of faith. She said many times that she would not want to be anyone else because she knew what her relationship was with God. She valued that relationship and was a witness to her family, friends, and complete strangers. Edith made lasting impressions on each and every person with whom she came in contact.
Edith was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years; Donald Wells Sr. on September 23, 2003, also preceding her in death was a son-in-law Danny Richardson and a sister-in-law Viola Mills.
Edith is survived by three sons Donald (Kathy) Wells, Rick (Debbie) Wells, and Lonnie Wells; two daughters Edith (Larry) Jimison and Janet Richardson; fourteen grandchildren Donald Kevin (Michelle) Wells, Kristi (Keith) Chafin, Michelle Jimison, Brandi (Adam) Gearheart, Larry (Mindi) Jimison, Jennifer (Matt) Adkins, Ricky Wells, Valerie (Lyle) McCarthy, Jeremy (Kassandra) Wells, LaTosha (Mike) Marcum, Amber Adkins, Ashley Wells, April Wells, and Lonnie Wells; nineteen great grandchildren Katelynne, Donald Kevin, Tyler, Jacob, Alexxa, Alivia, Danni, Isabella, Aaden, Adrick Alanna, Cody, Joshua, Kaydence, Brooklynn, Alexis, Riddock, Lance, Madyson; a brother William Howard Mills of Cleveland, OH; a brother-in-law Robert (Bob) Wells of Blaine, KY; two sister-in-laws Betty Wells of Logan, WV and Opal Wells of Ashland, KY; numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday April 27th at 12:30 pm at the Wilson Funeral Home with Pastor Donnie Wells officiating. Entombment in Yatesville Memorial Gardens will follow.
Friends may visit the family on Thursday from 11:00 am until time of services at the Wilson Funeral Home.
Edith lived her life to the fullest until her last days. Although she will be missed dearly by those who held her close, she has finished her race. She is now receiving the promise of everylasting life…” well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy Lord.” Matthew 25:21
The family would like to thank Dr. Marc Workman for his many years of dedicated care, Dr. Mana Keihanian for her expedient, loving care, all departments at Three Rivers Medical Center, not only for the compassionate care of her but the entire family and Hospice of Ashland for the wonderful work they do for families at life’s most difficult time.
