At about 8:15 p.m. Tuesday, July 25, a cross arm broke taking down lines and another pole in the state Route 3 area south of Louisa.
About 737 Kentucky Power customers lost electrical service. The outage also affected 162 Appalachian Power customers in West Virginia.
The pole damage occurred in a remote area with limited load transfer ability. This means we were unable to transfer affected customers to another line, resulting in an extended outage until repairs could be made.
Service was restored to all customers at 5:09 a.m. Wednesday, July 26.
