The sounds of sirens and high drama during the overnight hours Sunday morning awoke a Louisa neighborhood, all due to reported stabbing incident on Gene Wilson Blvd. early this morning.
Information is scant at this time as local law enforcement has not released anything about the stabbing, but what is known for now is that emergency officials state that shortly before 1 A.M. Sunday May 14, Lawrence County E-911 received a call of an individual that had been injured as a result of being stabbed at a Gene Wilson Blvd. address.
E-911 dispatched Netcare Ambulance Lawrence County, as well police and the Louisa Fire Department. Once arrived, emergency officials determined that the individual who was stabbed had injuries of a severe nature, a call was made for an ambulance helicopter for trauma transport. Healthnet Aeromedical Services out of Charleston, West Virginia were contacted, and they dispatched an air unit to Louisa.
About a half a hour after the initial call, the Louisa Fire Department set up a landing zone for the air medical helicopter in the Louisa Middle School parking lot for a Netcare ambulance to bring the stabbing victim to the landing zone. However after around an hour, shortly after 2.A.M., emergency officials had to move the landing zone to the Walmart parking lot due to fog conditions.
Shortly after a 2:15 A.M, the air ambulance landed, where the victim was taken and loaded onto and the Healthnet Aeromedical Services helicopter went back into the air with patient to a Huntington, West Virginia hospital trauma center.
The identities of the individual who was stabbed has not been released at this time. But the alleged suspect of the violent stabbing attack was arrested and was identified as Stacey Michelle Keesee, 35, of Louisa.
(Louisa Police Chief Greg Fugitt said at noon today that he is working on an official press release concerning the incident.)
Stacey Keesee was arrested by patrolman officer Julius Musick of the Louisa Police Department, where upon she was charged with: • ASSAULT, 1ST DEGREE, • CRIMINAL TRESPASS-1ST DEGREE. Keesee was transported to, booked and lodged in the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center in Painstville at 3:04 A.M.
Additional charges could be added later on, including a possible attempted murder charge, plus any further upgrade if the stabbing victim does not survive.
The Louisa Police Department has yet to release information on the case or what was the cause of the stabbing, but it appears very likely this may be a domestic incident/love triangle-romantic relationship issue, as Keesee had gone on an angry public rant on her Face Book account in the couple days and up thru to just a couple of hours before she allegedly committed the stabbing; in addition, Keesee stated she had been very recently diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer and stated she would be getting a double mastectomy at the UK hospital in Lexington in the near future with aggressive chemo therapy to soon follow after the surgery.
Keep checking the Levisa Lazer for further information on this criminal incident as they become available.
