As I’m sure any of you that KNOW anything about bluegrass music, you’ve heard of my uncle Melvin Goins. He was married to my dad’s sister. He passed today. Please pray for the family, so many fond memories of him growing up. He was a talker…he loved God, my aunt Willa and playing music. RIP Uncle Melvin.
Funeral arrangements for Melvin won’t be known for a few days due to the fact that they won’t be able to get him back into the United States until Thursday or Friday. Canada has paperwork, and autopsy. We should know something Friday.

The community of first generation bluegrass heroes got a good bit smaller today. Melvin Goins has passed away after more than 65 years of performing bluegrass music. He was 83 years of age and touring in Canada when he died. READ MORE
