Lawrence County/Martin County League Competition
The Blaine Elementary Academic Team was recently awarded 2nd place overall in the Lawrence County/Martin County League.
Several Blaine students placed in the following:
In Language Arts, Makayla Greene, 1st place; Devin Thacker, 2nd place; in Arts and Humanities, Devin Thacker, 1st place; Shawn Weston Thacker, 3rd place; in Science, Bradley Osborne, 1st place; Kolton McDowell, 2nd place.
In the league tournament Blaine also had several winners:
In Math, Makayla Greene, 1st place (tie); and Bradley Osborne, 3rd place (tie.) In Social Studies Devin Thacker was awarded 2nd place and Shawn Weston Thacker tied for 3rd place. In Arts and Humanities Blaine students Karyn Cordle and Shawn Weston Thacker tied for 3rd place. In Science, Blaine student Bradley Osborne was awarded first place.
Future Problem Solvers
In the 127th District Governor’s Cup Blaine Elementary Future Problem Solvers were awarded 2nd place. Students competing on the Blaine FPS team were: Kolton McDowell, Cadence Collins, Cynthia Dooley, and Kaylyn Thomas. These students will advance to compete in the Governor’s Cup Regional competition as well as the several Blaine students who placed in the district competition in the following subjects:
Bradley Osborne, 5th place in Math and 3rd place in Science; Aubry Steele, 5th place (tie) in Science; Shawn Weston Thacker, 4th place in Social Studies and 4th place (tie) in Arts and Humanities; Makayla Greene, 3rd place in Language Arts and 3rd place in Composition; Devin Thacker, 4th place (tie) in Arts and Humanities; and Karyn Cordle, 4th place (tie) in Arts and Humanities.
