Jason Goble to be special guest on June 25
Prestonsburg, Ky. – Billie Jean Osborne’s Kentucky Opry and the Junior Pros opened the summer 2016 season with a bang on Saturday, June 18 at the Mountain Arts Center (MAC). A large crowd was treated to the best country, Americana rock, bluegrass and gospel music this side of the Mississippi. And, of course, Appalachia’s favorite comedian, Munroe, tried his best at pranking new emcee and MAC Executive Director Clayton Case.
The Opry will have special guests this summer for select shows. These will include past favorites from the organization, as well as local favorite vocalists and musicians. This week’s guest will be 2014 Country Music Highway Road to Fame winner Jason Goble.
“I’ve grown up watching the Kentucky Opry and have always looked up to these unbelievable musicians,” said Goble. “It’s an absolute honor to be asked to perform with them.”
Case said it just made sense to have Goble as a special guest.
“We were starting to get our list together, and he was near the top of it,” Case said. “He has done so much for our local music scene in and around Prestonsburg.”
Billie Jean Osborne’s Kentucky Opry was formed in 1990. It consists of talented vocalists and musicians who call Eastern Kentucky home.
