COACH’S COMMENTS
“… We have been up and down because of the lack of practice and games, We started the season losing three straight and giving up 45 runs while scoring only two runs. We had to shut down for about 10 days and then we got the basketball players back after the longest season in history about seven months all together.”
“… We won our first game of the year and then 15 more days come back and win two more before going on a three game losing streak. We beat sectional opponent Hannan on Friday to kickoff the weekend. We got decent pitching and good hitting we pitched multiple people to insure we had everyone available for the Saturday doubleheader.
“… Seniors Josh and John Wilson stayed hot at the plate on Saturday when we played another sectional opponent in Van. We were one hit and managed to manufacture 12 runs. We got good pitching and solid defense to win the mercy shortened game. Braxton Marcum got the lone hit. As others walked multiple times. Nik Blackburn got the win and Dustin Bailey pitched in Relief.”
“… In the night cap we played Rose Hill Christian, who we had only beaten once since 2018. They jump up 6-0 in the top half of the first inning we answered back with 5 in the bottom of the first and It was back and forth until the 5th when we went up 9-6. Josh Wilson came in with one out in the first and down 5 runs to pitch a gem giving up 1 run in 5 2/3’s, Jullian Vance got the save John Wilson continued his hot hitting with 2 doubles andSenior Tanner Copley had his first 2 hit game of the season.”
