On Monday June 15, 2020, agent Olivia Faris stated the Extension office is slowly reopening the office to foot traffic and some of the groups.
“They will be following the rules to limit 10 persons or less, following the guidelines and taking measures for everyone’s safety. They will be handing out the Seniors Farmers Market Vouchers on June 23, 2020 from 9 a.m. to noon and Wednesday June 24, 2020, 9a.m. till noon.
The early sale at the Farmers Market will be June 27, 2020 from 9 a.m. to noon or till sellout. The Grand Opening Farmers Market will be held on July 8, 2020 at 9a.m. to noon or sellout.
The beekeepers meeting will be scheduled in July, check out the website for further specific dates.
The Homemakers club will start up towards the end of the summer.
The Lawrence County Fair is cancelled this year but The Horse Show will be held, keep watch on their FB Page for further information on this.
The Extension Office has been offering various online activities. Check out the online Sizzling Summer with Family and Consumer Science Program, which is updated once a week with various activities and information on Summer Safety and Outdoor Grilling Food Safety.
They have had grab and go activities with lots of different things for the children and adults to do. They have given out numbers of seeds and information on how to plant and grow them, coloring and word searches, calenders, jumping ropes, stickers and much more which is put out in the Foyer or first entrance room for citizens to pick up during business hours without entering the office.
Next week will be Pollinators Week and Snap Education, which will be one of the many grab and go activities planned.
