Knock Knock, who’s Hair?
Knock Knock, who’s Hair? Lookout Louisa your hair woes are soon to be over! Hair salons can reopen in Ky on May 25 with guidelines to follow and of course these are subject to change. Clients will wait in their car until each stylist is ready for that client. Only one person per stylist. Stylists will be wearing masks and each client will have to wear a mask as well. Disinfecting between each client and following guidelines from the CDC and Governor.
The Haven Salon & Day Spa owner Michelle Scaggs had this to say. “ We will follow all guidelines from the state and the government asks us to follow. While we were off we all took classes online on disinfecting and sterilizing and the correct products to use to ensure we are doing it correctly”.
When I asked Michelle if she thought this was premature to be opening, she stated “Not premature at all.”
The coolest thing is that when rescheduling 9 weeks of appointments, I only had 1 client that didn’t reschedule and only 2 clients that asked about procedures we would be taking. That is how ready people are. Of course my staff has asked how we will be able to do this, and I told them this is a new normal right now and to just be prepared for the new normal. We are not planning to turn anyone away. We will figure it out. We will still take walk-ins. I am blessed to have the space and to be able to have 5 stylists working at a time and 1 client per stylist. We have 6 feet between each station. We are very thankful for the unemployment benefits that we received. That allowed us to be financially ready to reopen to where we could still buy our products. Had it not been for the unemployment there would have been no way we could have been financially ready to open. We have everyone rescheduled and you can go online and book now atwww.vagaro.com/thehavensalonspa with stylists Amanda Stevens, Jessica Shapaka, Alyssa Messer, Lotressa Pigg, Hannah Colegrove, Michaelea McCoy, and Leslie Blackburn. We will still be here Monday through Friday 9-9 as of now.
I spoke with the owner of Cuts on Madison, Melissa Blankenship, to get a statement from her on the reopening of her salon. She first of all said, “We are so excited to be back in the shop and we have missed all of our clients so much!”
She also stated they will follow the guidelines as above and clients will have to bring their own masks.
The tentative schedule will be Monday through Friday 10-7. Clients can book online at www.vagaro.com/cutsonmadison with any of their stylists.
Stylists are Jennifer Smith, Laken Pack, Kasey Blankenship, and Melissa Blankenship. We will be booking the clients that had standing appointments during the shutdown first, then new ones after that. We have missed everyone so much and can’t wait to see you all soon.”
So come May 25th, we will once again be glamorous!
