Earsel Marcum, 91, of Fort Gay, WV

Earsel Marcum, 91, of Fort Gay, WV went to his heavenly home on October 6, 2019.

He was born to the late Everett and Shirley Branham Marcum in Martin County, KY on September 3, 1928.

He was a retired Foreman with N&W Railroad, a dedicated servant of God, and a well-known gospel musician and singer.

Earsel was preceded in death by his loving wife of 65 years, Irene (Tootsie) Copley Marcum; his son, Roger Lee Marcum; two brothers, Homer Marcum and an infant brother; one sister, Ethel Marcum; and three grandsons, James Earsel Hughes, John Shelby Hughes and Joseph Riley Raines.

Earsel is survived by three daughters, Elaine Marcum Brumfield (Joe) of Fort Gay, WV; Shirley Marcum Hughes Bradley of Fort Gay, WV; Rena Marcum Carter (Donald) of Louisa, KY; eight grandchildren, Crissa, Carla, Joey, Sonya, Chastity, Brandon, Ashley and Julie; and fourteen great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, October 9, 2019 at 11am at Wilson Funeral Home with Pastor Chris Wilson officiating.  Burial will follow in Yatesville Memorial Gardens. 

Friends may visit the family from 6-9pm on Tuesday, October 8, 2019 at Wilson Funeral Home.
