CHILDERS RACKS UP 17 CHARGES DURING ARREST…

LAWRENCE COUNTY ARREST LIST – JULY 25-AUGUST 6, 2018

In the 12 day period from 6:00 P.M. July 25 thru to 6:00 P.M., August 6, there were at least 141 individuals who were arrested and were brought to be lodged at the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center in Paintsville, Kentucky. Out of those 141, only 8 of those arrested were from Lawrence County. Another Lawrence County resident were arrested in Martin County

That is the correct right numbers you are reading; Just 8 out 141 in the last 12 days. We got eight. Our neighboring 3 counties who use the BSRDC (but also a couple other neighboring counties who are not official board members of the regional jail) brought in 133 arrest suspects to be booked as inmates.

As for our 8 taken into custody, one was a guilty plea weekender, and another arrested person, what charges they were for was not given and are therefore unknown.

To give the previous arrest report as a comparison; in the 10 day period from 12:01 A.M. July 15 thru to 6:00 P.M., July 25, there were at least 115 individuals who were arrested and were brought to be lodged at the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center in Paintsville, Kentucky. Out of those 115 or so, 15 of those arrested were from Lawrence County. Another 5 Lawrence County resident were arrested elsewhere (2 in Johnson County. 2 in Martin County

While still very overcrowded, the number of individuals who were lodged at the BSRDC went to its lowest numbers since mid-December 2017, as the inmate count got down to 301 as of 11:00 P.M. Monday August 6. That is way better than it was a couple of months ago when it was at a record peak of nearly 360; for a facility that as built for a designated maximum capacity of 225.

The names and criminal charges of the latest 8 Lawrence County arrests (and the 1 out of county arrest) are the following:

Ryan Chad Hayes, 31, of Louisa, was taken into custody and booked on July 26, 2018, at 6:02 P.M., in the Lawrence County Court, by the Lawrence County Sheriff Department, to serve a guilty plea jail sentence:

• CONTEMPT OF COURT LIBEL/ SLANDER RESISTANCE TO ORDER.

 

 

 

 

James Meddings, 65, of Catlettsburg, Kentucky; was arrested on July 27, 2018, at 5:22 P.M., by an officer of the Louisa Police Department, and was charged with:

• THEFT BY UNLAWFUL TAKING OR DISPOSITION SHOPLIFTING UNDER/ $500.

 

 

 

 

 

Carlos Scott Hammond, 34, of Louisa, Kentucky; was arrested on July 30,2018, at 10:20 A.M., by a deputy of the Lawrence County Sheriff Department, and was charged with:

• OPERATING MOTOR VEHICLE UNDER/ INFLUENCE ALCOHOL/DRUGS/ETC. .08 (AGGRAVATING CIRCUMSTANCES) 1ST OFFENSE,

• OPERATING ON SUSPENDED OR REVOKED OPERATORS LICENSE.

 

 

 

 

 

Stephanie L. Martin, 46, of Columbus, Ohio; was arrested on August 1,2018, at 4:00 P.M., by a deputy of the Lawrence County Sheriff Department, and was charged with: CHARGES UNKNOWN.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Cassie R. Elswick, 37, of Staffordsville, Kentucky; was arrested on August 2, 2018, at 1:52 A.M., by patrolman officer Shane James, of the Louisa Police Department, and was charged with:

Jason A. Hale, 37, of Louisa was arrested on August 3,2018, at 8:05 P.M., by an officer of the Louisa Police Department, and was charged with:

• TRAFFICKING IN CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE, 1ST DEGREE, 1ST OFFENSE – (> OR = 10 D.U. DRUG UNSPECIFIED),

• TRAFFICKING IN CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE, 3RD DEGREE, 1ST OFFENSE – (> 20 D.U. DRUG UNSPECIFIED).
