‘JUST ENOUGH SNOW TO PLOW AND TREAT’
HIGHWAY DISTRICT 12 – Thursday, January 4, 2018 – D12 Snowfighters are on their gritters* (snowplows) in all seven counties. We have just enough snow to plow and treat. Buckle up and be careful out there! Even a quarter inch of snow can cause you to slide or fishtail if you are going too fast.
Remember, follow the snowplow, don’t try to pass (especially on a two-lane road). About two car lengths behind a plow is probably the safest place on the road. Plows work from left to right, so drive in the passing lane on four-lane roads. Friction from other vehicles can help the salt and liquid calcium chloride work better and faster.
