Salyersville, Ky. — The Dawgs ( 3-4 ) won their second straight road game on Monday night with a 65-55 victory over former district rival Magoffin Co. ( 1-5 ) as Tyler Maynard and Cody Maynard both notched 17 points.
Lawrence Co. had six players score on the night including five with at least 9 points in a balanced scoring effort.
Besides Maynard and Maynard it was Chase Sartin scoring 10 points, Lucas Maynard and Noah Fairchild scoring 9 points each, Alex Ratliff chipped in with 3 points. Tyler Maynard and Fairchild had 8 and 7 rebounds respectively.
On Wednesday night in Louisa the Dawgs led 50-44 before Lewis Co. ( 5-3 ) stormed back for the 69-52 road victory. Lawrence Co. is 0-2 in the friendly confines of the Dawg Pound this young season.
Lawrence Co. was led by Tyler Maynard who finished with 15 points, Chase Sartin 14 points including 4 of 5 from three point range and grabbed 7 boards, Alex Ratliff 9 points, Cody Maynard 6 points, Noah Fairchild 4 points and 7 boards, Weston Hardin and Lucas Maynard 2 points each, Baden Gillispie corralled 7 rebounds. The Dawgs went 3-8 from the line and hit 9 three pointers.

On Tuesday night the Lady Bulldogs improved to 5-1 with a home victory over former district rival Magoffin Co. ( 2-4 ).
Lawrence Co. was led by Lexi Ratliff who had 17 points and 14 rebounds, Hannah Rucker finished with 14 including 4 three pointers, Kelly Davis 8 points and 12 boards, Kendra Spaulding 8 points, Kensley Feltner 6 points, Chelsey Fields chipped in with 2 points. LCHS hit 4 three pointers and went 1-5 from the line.
Both teams will open up 58th District play for the first time ever Friday night in a Boy/Girl doubleheader at Betsy Layne. Girls game 6:00 and Boys game 7:30.
Both Betsy Layne teams are 3-3 on the year.
