Louisa City Council unanimously approved mayor Harold Slone’s request for funding part of the envisioned Louisa Riverwalk project on the banks of the Big Sandy river at Tuesday night’s meeting (see seperate Lazer story).
The city will pay $100,000 for a ( no size given ) parcel of property on the banks on the river and will have an adjacent parcel donated to the project.
Slone has an amphitheater planned as part of the project where the latest property acquisition was made. A Viewing platform has already been constructed nearby that overlooks the historic Lock and Dam system used at the turn of the last century.
Mayor Slone provided an artist’s rendering of the project including the amphitheater shown in the left bottom corner.
