Brewer charged with stealing $78,000 from Jackson Brothers Auto Service in 2014
The Lawrence County Grand Jury met on Friday, October 13th and while they only returned with seven Indictments, one of those includes the murder of Landyn T. Ballou.
Nicholas Ballou, the boy’s father who is currently serving time for the horrific injuries that he inflicted upon his then two month old son in August of 2011 was indicted for murder last week.
The child suffered from cerebral palsy, permanent brain damage and was legally blind after the abuse from his own father. Ballou took an Alford Plea, accepting no responsibility for the child’s injuries that included multiple skull fractures and brain injuries.
Ballou, who went on the run from police for an extended time before being caught in Morgan Co. told his now ex-wife Amy that the baby had choked on his baby bottle. However, the child suffered major head trauma that left him legally blind and with permanent brain damage with three skull fractures.
Landyn has since died from the injuries and the Commonwealth is now charging Mr. Ballou with murder.
Gary Donald Brewer, 68 of Louisa, Ky.
The Grand Jury charges that January 1st, 2014 through a period ending in December 31, 2014 the defendant committed the offense of THEFT BY UNLAWFUL TAKING over $10,000 (a class C felony) by knowingly and unlawfully taking in excess of $78,000 from Jackson Brothers Auto Service of Louisa, Kentucky while employed there. The defendant, having been charged in the indictment above is now being charged as a PERSISTENT FELONY OFFENDER.
Tyler Burchett, 23 of Louisa, KY.
The Grand Jury charges that on or before July 23, 2017 the above named defendant committed the offense of 2 Counts of POSSESSION OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE (Class D felony) in the 1st degree by knowingly and unlawfully being in possession of a schedule II controlled substance, Morphine and the second offense was possession of Oxycodone.
Clarence Childers, 46 of Louisa, KY.
The Grand Jury charges that on or before April 22, 2017 the defendant committed the offense of FLEEING/DIVIDING IN THE 1ST degree (class D felony) by knowingly and unlawfully disregarding signals and commands to stop, given the officers with the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department, The defendant committed the offense of WANTON ENDANGERMENT in the 1st degree (class D felony) by knowingly and unlawfully engaging in contact which creates substantial danger of death or serious physical injury to another person, namely Kristen Jude of Prichard, West Virginia. The defendant having been convicted of prior felonies is now being indicted on PERSISTENT FELONY OFFENDER (an enhancement) along with 3 misdemeanor charges, OPERATING A MOTOR VEHICLE UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF ALCOHOL OR DRUGS , 2nd offense (aggravating circumstances) and DRIVING ON DUI SUSPENDED LICENSE, 1st offense and FAILURE OF NON OWNER OPERATOR TO MAINTAIN REQUIRED INSURANCE, 1st offense.

The Grand Jury charges that on or before March 10, 2016 the defendant committed the offense of TRAFFICKING IN A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE IN THE 1st degree (class D felony) by knowingly and unlawfully being in possession of a schedule II Controlled substance with the intent to traffic in that schedule II controlled substance or by trafficking in a controlled substance, namely Oxycodone.

Teresa Clay, 49 of Louisa , KY. The grand jury charges that on or before March 8, 2016, The defendant Teresa Clay committed the offense of TRAFFICKING IN A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE IN THE 1st degree (class D felony) by knowingly and unlawfully being in possession of a Schedule II controlled substance with the intent to traffic in that schedule II controlled substance or by trafficking in a controlled substance, namely Oxycodone.
Teresa Clay, 49 of Louisa, KY. The grand jury charges that on or before October 14, 2015 in Lawrence, The defendant committed the offense of TRAFFICKING IN A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE IN THE 1st degree (class D felony) by knowingly and unlawfully being in possession of a Schedule II controlled substance with the intent to traffic in that Schedule II controlled substance namely, Oxycodone.
Nicholas C. Ballou, 30 of Lagrange, KY.
The Grand Jury charges that on or before August 3, 2011 in Lawrence county Kentucky the above named defendant intentionally and or wantonly with extreme indifference to the value of human life caused the death of Landyn T. Ballou by inflicting blunt force injury to his head which alternately caused his death on September 22, 2016. The defendant is now charged with MURDER (class A felony)
