Fort Gay, W. Va. — On a picture perfect Saturday for football it was Lawrence Co. youth league going across the Tug River to make a visit to the Tolsia Rebels in the first matchup as the two leagues will play back to back weeks.
Lawrence Co. 32 Tolsia 6 ( D Team )
In the first game of the day it was the Dawgs coming away with the victory behind the running game and good blocking up front. Grey Derefield scored twice on runs of 21 yards and 62 yards, Kolten McDowell had a 89 yard touchdown, Jason Vanhoose scored from 6 yards out and caught a two point conversion from Chase Kendrick, Mitchell Frazier scored from 11 yards out plus 2 two point conversion runs. Elijah Ekers had a 1 yard touchdown run and Kyndul Kincaid tacked on the two point conversion run for the Tolsia points.
Offensive line with Peyton Marcum, Jackson Daniels, Braxton Hounshell, Chandler Preece, Dylan Orras and Matthew Eakwright led the Dawgs to over 300 yards rushing.
The defense was led by Mitchell Frazier who had 11 tackles and caused one fumble. Also registering tackles were:

Tolsia 8 Lawrence Co. 6 ( C Team )
In one of the best games of the day it was the Rebels getting a 72 yard touchdown run from Kaden Johnson and the two point conversion from Camron Perkins to preserve the victory. The Dawgs got a 3 yard touchdown run from Andrew Ratcliffe but Tolsia stopped the two point play. Both teams left it all on the field.
Tolsia 24 Martin Co. 14 ( B Team )
Lawrence Co. doesn’t have a B team so the Rebels took on the Cards from Martin Co. in a great ballgame. Tolsia jumped out to a 16-0 lead behind a Cole Collie 3 yard touchdown and a Parker Watts 65 yard jaunt plus 2 two conversions from Braydon Mollette. Dray Duff hit J Robinson with a 22 yard pass and Robinson ran in the two point play to cut the lead to 16-8. Rebel running back Jacob Litton went in from 17 yards out and Watts hit Luke Williamson for the conversion to put the game out of reach. Duff would add a 24 yard touchdown to set the final score.
Lawrence Co. 36 Tolsia 8 ( A Team )
The Dawgs jumped out to huge lead and then cruised to victory over the Rebels. William McDavid had touchdown runs of 23 and 4 yards, Caden Ball had a 3 yard touchdown and a two point conversion, Jake Derefield scored from 40 yards out and a two point conversion run, Cody Crum and Cody Crabtree had a two point conversion apiece.
David Dingess scored from one yard out and Camron Ratcliffe added the two point conversion for the only Rebel points.
The two leagues will meet again this Saturday in Louisa at Luke Varney Jr. memorial stadium first game will be 10:00. The playoffs will begin the next weekend.
