We have a Powerball winner! Not in the Bluegrass but 5 Kentuckians still win big cash
A Massachusetts hospital worker who considered winning the lottery a “pipe dream” cashed in the most valuable ticket in U.S. history Thursday, hours after winning the $758.7 million Powerball jackpot.
The more than $700 million in Powerball winnings was snatched by a Massachusetts resident Wednesday night but Kentuckians still won big.
Five Kentucky residents won $50,000 by matching four numbers plus the Powerball, according to the Powerball website.
In total, 24 Powerball players won $50,000 in Wednesday night’s drawing, the second-largest Powerball payout in history.
The winner numbers were 6-7-16-23-26 with a Powerball of 4.
The jackpot for Saturday’s drawing drops to a mere $40 million, USA TODAY reported. The odds of winning the Powerball: 1 in 292,201,338.00.
