Pikeville, Ky. — For the fourth straight year Johnson Central ( 17-9 ) has ended the season for the Lady Dawgs ( 17-18 ), this time 9-2 in the semifinals of the 15th Region tournament at Pike Co. Central on Tuesday night.
Lawrence Co. had two golden opportunities but the left the bases loaded in the third and fifth innings respectively. LC left eight runners on total. Johnson Central broke the game wide open with four runs in the fifth and three runs in the sixth. Kassidy Cavins hit a two run bomb in the seventh for the only Bulldog runs.
Halli Caudill and Cavins both had two hits apiece, Amber Triplett, Haleigh Peck, Ciana Bowen, and Keyarah Bowen all had one hit apiece.
Ciana Bowen pitched all seven innings for the Bulldogs allowing 10 hits and striking out nine batters.
The Lady Dawgs lose Seniors Natalie Rice and Haleigh Peck but return a boat load of talent for 2018 as they move into the 58th District with Betsy Layne, Prestonsburg and Floyd Central.

Johnson Central will play Pikeville in Thursday night for the right to represent the 15th Region in Owensboro on June 8-10.
