Gov. Bevin Makes Appointments to Kentucky Boards and Commissions
FRANKFORT, Ky. (March 7, 2017) – Gov. Matt Bevin has made the following appointments to Kentucky Boards and Commissions:
Michael S. Ferguson has been appointed to the Veterans’ Program Trust Fund Board of Directors.
Michael S. Ferguson, of Versailles, is an active guard with the National Guard. Col. Ferguson shall serve for a term expiring July 15, 2019. He will represent the National Guard.
The Veterans’ Program Trust Fund Board of Directors administers the Veterans’ Program Trust Fund (VPTF) – established by the Kentucky General Assembly as part of the Kentucky Vietnam Veterans’ Bonus Act in 1988. The purpose of the VPTF is to direct funding to projects and programs that help Kentucky’s veterans, but for which other funds are not available.
Matthew T. Ross and Jeffery M. Shannon have been appointed to the Kentucky Technical Education Personnel Board.
Matthew T. Ross, of Frankfort, is an executive advisor for the Kentucky Department of Education. Ross shall serve for a term expiring June 30, 2019. He will represent the Department of Education.
Jeffery M. Shannon, of Louisa, is a CTE instructor at Floyd County Area Technology Center. Dr. Shannon shall serve for a term expiring June 30, 2019. He will represent Area Technology Centers. Floyd Co. Supt. Dr. Henry Webb congratulated Shannon on being chosen for the position.

The Kentucky Technical Education Personnel Board was established to conduct personnel appeals from certified and equivalent employees in the Office of Career and Technical Education. The governor appoints five voting members to the board.
