Lloyd Joe Thompson, 82, of Prichard, WV passed away Friday, February 3, 2017 at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House in Huntington, WV

Joe was born March 31, 1934 in Prichard, WV a son of the late Neal and Hazel Hatten Thompson. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, John Thompson and his son in law, Jimmy Branham. Joe was a United States Army Veteran who served his country honorably. He was a retired sheet metal worker and a retired bus driver for the Wayne County Board of Education.

Survivors include, his loving wife, Nina Fay Canterbury Thompson of Prichard, WV.; children, Tommy Joe (Karen) Thompson of Prichard, WV.; Rita (Timothy) Yates of Louisa, Ky.; Anita Branham of Louisa, Ky.; Amy (Joe) Ekers of Prichard, WV; sister, Brenda Curry of Prichard, WV; grandchildren, Trenton Damron, Darren Thompson, Tyler Branham, Nick Branham, Jacob Ekers, and Riley Ekers; great grandchildren, Jimmy Branham, Bronson Damron, and Garrett Ekers.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 pm Sunday, February 5, 2017 at Young Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Darrell Brewer, Pastor Ron Scarberry officiating. Burial will follow at the Cyrus Cemetery, Prichard, WV.

Visitation will be 11:00am until time of service at 2:00 pm at the Young Funeral Home Chapel.
