Blaine was packed full of festivities over the weekend as the 6th Annual Autumn Fest took place on Saturday October 8th. People took to the streets for the parade, live music, fabulous food, vendors with locally made goods or goods in general.
It’s a celebration of “God’s Fall Harvest.” From the float contest to the essay contest the kid’s were competitive while having fun. Food in the form of “PIG” generated a huge line. Butch and Debbie Smith (and family) cooked and donated an entire hog for the day. Several 4H volunteers and Caryn McCreary (4H agent) worked hard to serve the food to everyone who lined up, some going through the line more than once as it was delicious!
When asking a few in the crowd what their favorite thing about Autumn fest was, Doug Slone states, “my favorite thing about today was the parade.”
Kenneth Arrington had a different answer, “ my favorite thing about today was the comradary with my fellow democrats.”
Everyone has a reason for attending, overall after dodging some bad weather the day was a perfect day in Blaine.
