Patsy Nadean Hughes
1938 – 2016
Patsy “Nadean” Hughes, 77, of Louisa Kentucky went home to be with God & “Poppy” on Saturday, September 24, 2016 at her home in Louisa Kentucky.
Patsy was born on December 3, 1938 the daughter of the late Maxine & Edward Smith and was raised by her grandparents Virgie & William Bill Taylor of Clifford, Kentucky. Life was never easy for Nadean but with God’s loving arms wrapped around her she was carried through life on wings of love. She would tell you that even as a young child she could see God & knew he was always with her and watching over her.
Nadean was a very hard worker. She retired after 20 + years of service from Humana/Three Rivers Hospital & Riverview Medical Clinic of Louisa, working in environmental services.
Nadean was also a very skilled cook, baker and loved spending time reading every new cook book she could get her hands on, watching the food network & working in her flowers. Mom could fill her days planting, re-seeding and starting “new life” in her flower gardens, you could feel her love and kindness in those gardens. There she found her “true self”.
In addition to her parents, (Maxine & Edward Smith) and her grandparents (Virgie & William Bill Taylor) Nadean was preceded in death by her husband, Henry “Jeff” Hughes who passed away May 25, 2015.
Surviving are her son, Michael Hughes & wife Wilma, son Jeffery Hughes, daughter Donna Thompson & husband Bruce and daughter Frances Tomblin & husband Joseph, all of Louisa Kentucky, 6 Grandchildren and 14 Great Grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1pm on Wednesday September 28, 2016 at Young Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Travis Perry officiating. Burial will follow at the Hughes Family Cemetery on Old River Road in Louisa Kentucky.
