OLDER RECORDS INDICATE TOTAL NUMBER OVER 200 ARRESTS, ON 1,000 VARIOUS CRIMINAL CHARGES.
A Johnson County man was arrested late Thursday night April 14 by a Paintsville City Police officer on the criminal charges of • PUBLIC INTOXICATION-CONTROLLED SUB (EXCLUDES ALCOHOL), • THEFT BY UNLAWFUL TAKING OR DISPOSITION ALL OTHERS UNDER/$500, • DRUG PARAPHERNALIA – BUY/POSSESSION, • PRESCRIPTION CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE NOT IN PROPER CONTAINER 1ST OFFENSE.
While this seems like a normal and routine arrest on the surface, a deeper investigation reveals an individual whose latest run in with the law is just the tip of a huge iceberg that is twenty plus years of a mountain sized criminal history.
Steven M. Blair, 42, of Painstville, was booked at 11:00 P.M. after being taken into custody by Painstville officer Zachary Stapleton. it marked the first time Blair had been arrested since August 25, 2015.
Blair’s latest arrest marks the 125th time he has been arrested in Johnson County, Kentucky since January 1, 2002. Older court records indicate an even longer criminal past with possibly well over 200 arrests total.
The 125 arrests of Steven Blair since New Years Day 2002 tally up to a total of over 1,000 criminal charges against Blair.
While a majority of those are for misdemeanor alcohol and/or drug charges, Steven Blair has been charged with nearly 100 felonies in the past 14 years, including multiple charges for domestic violence and assaulting law enforcement officers or prison correction officers.
The big question for the public is how does a guy who is so very unlucky in life, be so very lucky in getting away with so much, over and over again throughout the many past years?
