The defending state champs looked every bit the part to repeat with a stifling defense that held the Bulldogs in check for most of the night.Boyle Co. took a 7-0 lead about halfway through the First quarter and then made it 14-0 just seconds into the second period.
Lawrence Co. put their best drive of the night together with a Noah West 37 yard run and a couple nice gains from Ashton Blankenship and Baden Gillispie that set up the Dawgs at the 2 yard line and West capped it of with a touchdown run and also tacked on the two point conversion run to make it 14-8 with 7:12 to go in the first half. After the teams traded punts the Rebels made it 21-8 with 2 minutes to go in the half. Lawrence Co. moved the ball to the 30 but ran out of time as the 1st half expired.
In the second half it was all Rebels other then a couple Bulldog drives one inside the five before Lawrence Co. fumbled. The Bulldogs will lose a stellar senior class with 13 outstanding young men and football players.
Boyle Co. will move on to the Regional Championship game next Friday with a trip to Pond Creek to face Belfry ( 10-2 ) who beat Lexington Catholic 55-51 Friday night.

COACH’S COMMENTS
“… Class act program, Coach Smith runs a first class program here that has had a ton of success. We understood that we were facing a quality opponent and it was going to be a challenge for us in the road.”
“… My heart goes out to our seniors, outstanding group of young men from top to bottom that has committed themselves to our program for the last four years. They have accomplished so much as a group. I look for them to do big things in the future.”
“… It was an excellent trip for us. Any time you can take a group of kids and take them over to Eastern Ky University and be shown around the campus. Want to think our administration for allowing us to make the trip. EKU was fantastic to all of us and it was fun.”
