I love how people get on here and throw out their opinions on how they believe it should be, and how unfair it is “those people” are able to breathe the same air they are, and aren’t in a jail somewhere, anywhere… When they don’t have a clue about what happened or how the justice system works. You guys need to understand that when it says 1st offence, that it doesn’t mean it’s the first time we’ve done it… It is the severity of the offense. Like with a possession charge, it would go by the amount of whatever drug it is. I hope this helps at least with understanding that part of things.
Also, please don’t think of us as horrible people, we are still human. I know that, yes, some addicts are shit and just bad people, but most of us are the nicest, most caring, people you’d ever meet… But, had something horrible happen that they feel they have to numb from, or grew up in this world. It isn’t just black and white. I am just saying, not one of us EVER wanted to be a junkie or whatever you call us. We are still people… We just have a disease and sick… Mentally and physically.
