2022 Rogers Scholar Maggie Johnson collected donations and purchased approximately $465 in personal hygiene items to donate to Lawrence County schools for her community service project. “To be able to provide girls in my community with feminine hygiene products, which are necessary to maintain their health, was very rewarding,” she said. “I hope to continue this project annually to ensure all girls can feel comfortable in their bodies.” Graduates of The Center for Rural Development’s Rogers Scholars program are required to complete a community service project.
