Myrtle Beach, SC — Lawrence Co.’s girls softball team improved to 6-1 on the season after winning 2 out of their first 3 games at the Cal Ripken experience in South Carolina on spring break.
The Lady Bulldogs are enjoying the sun, the sand and softball.

The Lady Dawgs wasted no time in their first game of the trip with a five inning mercy shortened victory.
Ciana Bowen went three innings in the circle to get the win. Bowen struck out nine batters and helped her own cause with a home run.
Halli Caudill and Abby Fletcher finished with 4 hits apiece.
Ashley Hayes, Keyarah Bowen, Mackenzie Methax, Brittany Shapaka and Kassidy Cavins each had one hit.
Wilson Hall, SC 9 Lawrence Co. 6 ( Monday )
In the second game of the day Lawrence Co. faced off with Wilson Hall a powerhouse from South Carolina who dealt the Lady Dawgs their first loss of the year. Ciana Bowen suffered the loss but did pick up 1 hit.
Halli Caudill had 2 hits, Mackenzie Methax, Kassidy Cavins and Keyarah Bowen had one hit each.

Ciana Bowen picked up another victory striking out 12 she also contributed one hit along with Kaylee Ison, Kassidy Cavins, Abby Fletcher, Mackenzie Methax, and Halli Caudill who all had hits.
Lawrence Co. will return to action on Thursday with a doubleheader to close out the spring break trip against
vs Soddy Daisy, Tennessee at 9:00 AM and
vs St. Joseph Academy from Cleveland Ohio at 1:00.

COACH’S COMMENTS
“…We have had a good week up to this point. Our team has played good ball and have showed it in all three games. To put up 45 runs in three contests tells me that we are swinging at good pitches.
“…Pitching has been on point and the defense has made plays. We still have a few things to get figured out. The small things that all good teams do, need to be brought up to a higher level. Those things fall on the coaching staff.”
