For Jamie’s Sake began the license plate campaign on February 1, 2008, and must collect 900 pre-paid applications or the monetary equivalent.

For Jamie’s Sake is pleased to announce that the adoption license plate campaign has someone new leading the drive: The new “Ambassador for Adoption” is 13-year-old Jason and he knows first hand the importance of adoption.

Jason is one of 264 Kentucky children waiting on their forever families through adoption. Lea Ann Gollihue, co-founder and executive director of For Jamie’s Sake met with Jason and thanked him for his help promoting the license plate.

Jason is a perfect choice to lead this charge,” she said. He has already suggested several ways to raise funds and has spoken with administrators at his school about taking applications there.

Within minutes of becoming the adoption license plate ambassador, Jason collected a couple of pre-paid applications and even received a $25.00 monetary donation toward the cause.

Jason said he is excited about his role and the license plate effort. “We will make this happen! We will get the license plates on the road.” He said, “This is important and I won’t stop until we reach the goal.”

For Jamie’s Sake began the license plate campaign on February 1, 2008, and must collect 900 pre-paid applications or the monetary equivalent. Once the goal has been met, the first ever adoption license plate in Kentucky will be a reality. When the license plate is produced, all proceeds from the license plate will benefit the Kentucky Special Needs Adoption Program (SNAP). Jason and 264 other Kentucky children who are waiting to be adopted are a part of SNAP.

We are 200 applications away from meeting this goal or $5,000”, Gollihue said, “We are rounding third base and headed home; Jason will make sure we are safe at the plate.”

If you would like more information or would like to apply for a license, please call For Jamie’s Sake at (606) 327-5511 or 606-327-0017. The group is seeking community support from businesses or individuals willing to make a donation, churches that can take up a one-time donation or individuals to apply for the license plate.
