Ms. Diamond and Ms. Stump, Chapter leaders of the WWI, addressed the different events and opportunities that their organization provides from Paddlecraft floats to archery classes to fishing tournaments. More information about their organization can be found at https://wildlife-women.com/

Lawrence Co. Tourism Committee members Cathi Wells, Catrina Vargo and Rita Parker were joined by Brenda Hardwick, (partially hidden), Sister Pat Cataldi and Susie Chambers also of Tourism. The recent kayak event hosted by TT was discussed as well as the need for additional accesses to the Tug Fork, Levisa Fork, Big Sandy and Blaine Creek.

Some funds have been procured from a grant to begin addressing an access point at McClure Branch which is directly across from Chapman Park.

The next kayak event is scheduled for July 15th but the location has not yet been announced.

The next Community Bike Ride sponsored by the TT committee will be on Sunday, July 1st beginning at 3 pm at Main Street Park. Participants are encouraged, but not required, to decorate their bikes or themselves for Independence Day for an early bike “parade” around town. Also, a SLOW BIKE RACE will be held after the ride to see just who IS the slowest person in Louisa!

The next Trail Town Committee meeting will be on Sunday, August 5th at 3 pm at Main St Park just prior to the Community Bike Ride. All interested citizens are invited to attend even if you aren’t participating in the ride.
