This weekend was free fishing weekend in Kentucky which corresponded perfectly with KIDS FISHING DAY (Saturday June 2) at Yatesville Lake State Park Marina!

Kid's Fishing Day angler David Hueston,said, ” I’ve caught a couple of bass and a few crappie but now I’m trying to get me a catfish!”  Kid's Fishing Day angler David Hueston,said, ” I’ve caught a couple of bass and a few crappie but now I’m trying to get me a catfish!”

“We had a great turnout. About 50-60 kids participated in fishing tournaments and other activities,” Kayla Stepp, Marina cashier, said.

Big shout out to Luke Rickman for a 14 1/2” bass.

There were groups of 3-5 lining the shores at the marina and it continued on the side roads. The smiles were priceless.

"I’ve caught a couple of bass and a few crappie but now I’m trying to get me a catfish,” said angler David Hueston."Thank you Department of Fish&Wildlife and Yatesville Park for making it possible for that 'first fish caught' feeling.”
