Tellie A. Copley

1930-2011

Tellie A. Copley, 80, of Louisa, went to be with her Lord on Sunday, March 6, 2011.

Tellie was born July 18, 1930, in Louisa, the daughter of the late Robert and Ona Mae Webb Henson.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Jim Henson.

Tellie was a caregiver most of her life, and a member of Louisa Freewill Baptist Church and Order of Eastern Star 292 of Louisa.

She leaves behind a loving family, her husband of 62 years, Claude Copley; a daughter, Claudia Copley of Louisa; a son and daughter-in-law, James and Angela Copley, also of Louisa; and two very special grandsons, Bradley James Copley and William Andrew Copley.

A celebration of her life will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 9 at Wilson Funeral Home in Louisa by the Revs. Venny Vanhoose, Jim Osborne and Bobby Workman. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery in Louisa.

Pallbearers who will serve are Brian Bailey, Dewey Webb, Charles Chapman, Phil Carter, Ernie Bevins and Dean Bradley.

Friends may call after 5 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Dr. Joseph E. Carter, Jr.

 

Dr. Joseph E. Carter, Jr. went to be with the Lord on Saturday morning Feb. 26, 2011 at Woodland Oaks Nursing and Rehabolitation Center in Ashland. He was preceded in death by his parents Dr. Joseph E. Carter and Christine Elizabeth Swethnam Carter and a sister; Carolyn Carter Norton.

Dr. Carter was a retired dentist who practiced in Louisa, Ky for 38 years. He was a graduate of the University of Kentucky, the University of Louisville School of Dentistry and a member of the Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity. He was an Air Force captain, an avid U.K. Wildcats fan, fisherman and loved the outdoors. He was s was a board member and vice president of First National Bank of Louisa and former President and Founder of First Federal Savings and Loan of Louisa, and a former Louisa City Council member. He was a member of Louisa Rotary Club, and current member of the Cannonsburg Optimist Club. He was a member of Unity Baptist Church in Ashland.

Surviving are his beloved wife, Teresa M. Carter of Catlettsburg, Ky.; twin daughters Carolyn and Elizabeth Carter of Ashland, Ky.; a daughter, Christine (Robert) Schultz of Boonton Township, N.J.; a son, Joseph E. (Josephine) Carter III of Jersey City, N.J.; two grandsons, Ashley and Carter Schultz of N.J.; a very special aunt, Dorothy Crutcher; and several nieces and nephews and friends.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday March 1, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at Louisa United Methodist Church with Dr. Floyd Paris and Rev. Harold Cathey officiating. Burial will be at Pinehill Cemetery, Louisa, Ky.

Friends may call from 6:00 - 8:00 today (February 28, 2011) at Steen Funeral Home, 13th Street Chapel in Ashland, Ky. and an hour before services Tuesday at the church.

Glenn Marcum

1969-2011

Glenn Marcum, 41, of Flatwoods, Ky. passed away Friday February 25, 2011 at Kings Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, Ky. after a short illness. He was a security guard at the Ashland Town Center.
