LAWRENCE COUNTY ARREST LIST - MARCH 19-28, 2018

MARCH 28, 2018 - written by WADE QUEEN

REGIONAL JAIL INMATES PACKED IN LIKE SARDINES

On Wednesday, March 28, at 8 P.M., the number of inmates being incarcerated at the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center in Paintsville was at an all time high, with a total of 337 prisoners.

The BSRDC facility designated maximum capacity is for 225 prisoners. That means the jail is at 50% percent over capacity. And the numbers will likely increase through the next few days.

To give a comparison, the Pike County Detention center in Pikeville at the very same time at 8:00 P.M.-03/28/2018 had a total of 355 inmates booked, and the PCD jail facility's designated maximum capacity is for 400 prisoners.

A total of 15 people were taken in custody in Lawrence County between March 19 thru March 28. Another 3 Lawrence County residents were arrested in neighboring counties ( 1 Morgan County, 1 in Martin County, and 1 in Johnson County).

Work'em. Work'em hard. You'll see the jails thin out then. Why worry about going to jail if all you have to do is lay around and eat, watch TV, and prey on the weak. They know that the jails are packed and they will be released early because of that. Work'em!

Packed like sardines? Build a bigger jail or set up tent city like Sheriff Joe!
